How Do I Change a Proposal From Hourly to Fixed-Price UpWork?

Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 10:41 pm

As a freelancer, you have the option to submit proposals to clients for either hourly or fixed-price projects. You may find that a client wants to move an hourly project to a fixed-price contract after you have already started working on the project. In this case, you will need to change your proposal.

To do this, go to the My Jobs page and click on the name of the job. This will take you to the job’s page, where you will see your proposal listed under the Proposals tab. To the right of your proposal, you will see a button that says Change to Fixed-Price.

Click on this button and a pop-up window will appear. From here, you can change your proposal amount and duration. Once you have made your changes, click Submit Proposal and your new proposal will be sent to the client for approval.

If the client accepts your new proposal, the job will be updated accordingly and you can continue working on the project under the new terms. If the client rejects your proposal, they will provide feedback on why they rejected it and you can make further changes before resubmitting it for approval.

PRO TIP: If you change a proposal from hourly to fixed-price, you may not be able to change it back. Make sure you are certain about the type of proposal you want before making any changes.

Conclusion:

To change a proposal from hourly to fixed-price on UpWork, go to the My Jobs page and click on the name of the job. On the job’s page, find your proposal under the Proposals tab and click Change to Fixed-Price. Make your changes in the pop-up window and click Submit Proposal.
