How Do I Change a Sold Out to Soon on Shopify?

If you’re using Shopify to power your online store, you might have noticed that there’s a “Sold Out” label that appears on products when they’re no longer available. This can happen for a number of reasons, but the most common one is that you’ve simply run out of stock.

If this happens, don’t worry! It’s easy to change the “Sold Out” label to something else, like “Coming Soon” or “Temporarily Out of Stock”. Here’s how:

PRO TIP: If you are planning to change a “sold out” status on a Shopify product to “soon,” it’s important to first consider whether or not this is the best move for your business. There are a few things to keep in mind before making this change:

1. It’s important to remember that a “sold out” status usually means that a product is no longer available for purchase. Changing this to “soon” may confuse customers and cause them to believe that the product will soon be available again, when in reality it may not be.

2. If you do decide to change a “sold out” status to “soon,” it’s important to update your product description and/or imagery to reflect the new status. This will help ensure that customers understand that the product is no longer available for purchase.

3. Finally, keep in mind that changing a “sold out” status to “soon” may impact your search engine optimization (SEO) efforts. This is because search engines typically prioritize products that are currently available for purchase. As such, changing a “sold out” status to “soon” may cause your product to lose its ranking in search results, which could ultimately impact your sales.

1. Log in to your Shopify admin and go to Online Store > Themes. 2. Find the theme you’re using and click Edit code. 3.

In the Assets directory, find the file called product-card.liquid and open it. 4. Find the line that says {% if product.available %} and replace it with {% if product%available == false %}. 5. Save your changes and you’re done!

Now when a product is out of stock, it will say “Coming Soon” or whatever other text you chose instead of “Sold Out”.
