How Do I Change My Default Payment Method in WooCommerce?

WooCommerce is a popular eCommerce platform that enables online businesses to sell their products and services. One of the great features of WooCommerce is its flexibility when it comes to payment methods.

By default, WooCommerce supports several major credit cards and PayPal. However, you may want to change your default payment method based on your business needs. In this article, we’ll show you how to change your default payment method in WooCommerce.

First, you need to log into your WordPress dashboard and go to WooCommerce > Settings. On the settings page, click on the tab labeled “Checkout.”

PRO TIP: If you are changing your default payment method in WooCommerce, please be aware that this could potentially affect your ongoing transactions. Please make sure to review all your pending transactions before making any changes.

On the Checkout tab, you’ll see a section labeled “Default Checkout Address.” Here, you can choose your default country and state.

Below that, you’ll see the “Default Payment Method” setting. By default, this is set to “Credit Card (Stripe).”

To change your default payment method, simply click on the drop-down menu and select the desired payment gateway. In this example, we’ll choose PayPal as our default payment gateway. Once you’ve made your selection, click on the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page.

And that’s it! You’ve successfully changed your default payment gateway in WooCommerce.
