Every website has a title. This is what shows up in the tab at the top of your browser when you visit a site.
The title is also what appears in search engine results when someone searches for a particular site. For these reasons, it’s important to choose a descriptive and keyword-rich title for your site.
If you’re using Squarespace to build your website, you can easily change the site title in the Settings panel. Here’s how:
- Log in to your Squarespace account and go to the Dashboard.
- Click on the website you want to edit.
- In the Settings panel, click on the General tab.
- Under Site Title, enter the new title for your website.
- Click Save.
That’s all there is to it! Now when someone visits your site or searches for it online, they’ll see your new, improved title.
PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with HTML or CSS, we do not recommend changing the site title in Squarespace. Doing so could break your site’s design, and you may not be able to revert the changes.
