How Do I Change the Export Size in Figma?

Last updated on April 22, 2023 @ 3:36 pm

When you are working on a design project in Figma, there are times when you need to change the export size of your design. Maybe you need to create a different version of your design for a different screen size, or you want to export your design to a higher resolution. Whatever the reason, Figma makes it easy to change the export size of your design.

In Figma, you can change the export size of your design by going to the Export section in the Design tab. Just click on the “+” icon to open the Export menu.

In the Export menu, you can select how much you want to increase or decrease the size of your design.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful when changing the export size in Figma, you may end up with a file that is the wrong size or has the incorrect resolution. Always check the file size and resolution before exporting, and make sure that the settings are correct for the intended use.

If you choose values greater than 1x such as 1.5x or 2x, the size of your design will also increase. This will also increase the resolution of your design in Figma.

On the other hand, if you choose a value less than 1x, such as 0.5x or 0.75x, then your design will be sized down. This may also cause the resolution of your design to be decreased.

Figma makes it easy to change the export size of your designs so that you can create different versions for different screen sizes or resolutions.
