Squarespace’s Overlay feature is a great way to add text and images to your site without having to worry about the background color or image. But what if you want to change the color of the overlay? Or the text?

Here’s how to do it:

  1. First, log in to your Squarespace account and go to the website you want to edit.
  2. Click on the ‘Pages’ tab at the top of the screen.
  3. Hover over the page you want to edit and click on the ‘Edit’ button that appears.
  4. Click on the ‘Blocks’ tab at the top of the screen.
  5. Click on the ‘+ Add Block’ button and select ‘Overlay’ from the list of options.
  6. Now you can add your text and images. To change the color of the overlay, click on the ‘Change Colors’ button at the bottom of the block.
  7. A new window will open with a color picker. Use this to select the color you want. You can also enter a hex code for a specific color.
  8. Once you’re happy with your selection, click on the ‘Apply’ button. Your changes will be saved automatically.
