If you’re new to Wix, you may be wondering how to change the picture that displays when you share your website link. By default, when you share your website on social media or via email, a small thumbnail image will appear. This is called a social preview image, and it’s generated automatically based on the images and text on your website.
If you want to change the social preview image for your website, there are a few things you can do.
Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.
First, go to your Wix Editor and click on the Settings tab. Under General, you’ll see an option for Social Preview Image.
Click the Upload Image button to select a new image from your computer. The recommended size for social preview images is 1200×627 pixels.
Once you’ve selected an image, click Save at the top of the page to save your changes. Now when you share your website, the new image will appear instead of the default one.
If you don’t want to use an image for your social preview, you can disable it entirely by unchecking the box next to Enable Social Preview Image in the Settings tab. This will cause your website title and URL to appear instead of an image when you share your site.
You can also change the way your social preview appears on a per-page basis. To do this, go to the page you want to change and click on the Share icon in the top-right corner of the Editor. A pop-up window will appear with options for sharing your page on social media or via email.
At the bottom of the pop-up window, you’ll see an option to Change Social Preview. Clicking this will allow you to select a new image or disable the social preview entirely for that particular page.
So there are a few different ways that you can change the picture that displays when you share your Wix website link. You can change it in the Settings tab under General, or on a per-page basis by clicking on the Share icon and then Change Social Preview.
