How Do I Change the String in WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 5:21 am

WooCommerce is a powerful ecommerce solution for WordPress, and one of its most useful features is that it allows you to change the strings that appear throughout the frontend of your store. By default, these strings are all in English, but if you’re running a store aimed at a different market, then you’ll need to change them to the relevant language. Fortunately, this is relatively easy to do, and in this article, we’ll show you how.

There are two methods that you can use to change the strings in WooCommerce. The first is to use the WooCommerce Multilingual plugin, which is a free plugin from Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com. Once you’ve installed and activated the plugin, you’ll need to configure it by going to WPML -> Settings and selecting your desired language(s) from the Languages dropdown menu.

Once you’ve done that, you can start translating your strings. To do this, go to WPML -> String Translation and search for the string that you want to translate.

Once you’ve found it, click on the pencil icon next to it and enter your translation in the Translation field. When you’re finished, click on the Save button and your translation will be saved.

The second method that you can use to change the strings in WooCommerce is by modifying the code itself. This method is more advanced and is not recommended for beginners. If you’re comfortable with code and don’t mind doing a bit of research, then this method may be for you.

To start, you’ll need to find the file that contains the string that you want to change. The easiest way to do this is by using a text editor like Sublime Text or Atom and searching for the string within your theme files.

Once you’ve found the file that contains the string, open it up and find the line that contains the string itself. Then, simply modify it to say what you want it to say.

Remember to save your changes and upload the file back to your server when you’re finished. That’s all there is to changing WooCommerce strings!

Conclusion :

In conclusion, there are two main methods that can be used in order o change strings within WooCommerce- either by using
the WooCommerce Multilingual plugin or by modifying code itself

. Although modifying code may be more advanced and difficult for beginners, both methods are relatively easy once understood how too..
