The process of changing your Value-Added Tax (VAT) to a Goods and Services Tax (GST) in WooCommerce is a simple one. You will need to change the tax class of your products and then adjust the tax rates accordingly. The steps are as follows:

1. First, you need to log into your WordPress account and go to your Dashboard. Then, hover over the WooCommerce tab in the left-hand menu and click on Settings.

2. On the Settings page, click on the Tax tab. Here, you will see the current tax classes that are set up on your WooCommerce store.

3. To change a product’s tax class, go to the Products tab and click on Edit for the desired product. On the Edit Product page, scroll down to the Tax Status section and select the new tax class from the drop-down menu.

4. Once you have changed the tax class of all the products that you want to, you can move on to setting up the new tax rates.

PRO TIP: If you are changing your WooCommerce store from charging VAT to GST, there are a few things you need to do to ensure that your store is correctly configured. First, you need to go to WooCommerce > Settings > Tax and change the Default Country/Region to Australia. Next, you need to change the Tax Calculation Method to “Tax Based On: Shipping Address”. Finally, you need to ensure that all of your products have the correct GST tax class applied.

5. To do this, go back to the WooCommerce Settings Tax tab and scroll down to the Tax Rates. Here, you will need to add a new row for each GST rate that you want to charge. In the first column, select ‘GST’ from the drop-down menu and in the second column, enter the GST rate as a whole number (e.g. 10).

6. Once you have added all of the GST rates that you want to charge, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Save Changes button.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, changing your VAT to GST in WooCommerce is a quick and easy process that can be completed in just a few steps. All you need to do is change the tax class of your products and set up new GST rates.
