If you’re using Squarespace to sell products or services, you’ll need to connect a payment processor so you can receive payments. In this article, we’ll show you how to connect your payment processor to Squarespace.
There are two ways to accept payments with Squarespace: through integrated payment providers or through third-party processors. Integrated payment providers are built into Squarespace, so you can start accepting payments as soon as you add your products. Third-party processors are separate companies that handle online payments, and you’ll need to set up an account with them before you can start selling.
Squarespace offers integration with the following payment providers:
- Stripe: Stripe is a popular payment processor that’s available in several countries. With Stripe, you can accept credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other local payment methods.
- PayPal: PayPal is a well-known payment processor that’s available in over 200 countries.
PRO TIP: If you are not comfortable working with code or troubleshooting technical issues, we recommend working with a Squarespace Expert. Experts are available to help you with everything from connecting your payment processor to customizing your site.
When connecting your payment processor to Squarespace, there are a few important things to keep in mind:
1. Make sure you have a supported payment processor. Squarespace supports Stripe, PayPal, and Apple Pay.
2. Make sure your account is verified and set up correctly with your payment processor. You’ll need to provide some basic information about your business and set up your account before you can start using it with Squarespace.
3. Be sure to test your connection before going live. Once you’ve connected your account and added your products, take a few moments to test the checkout process to make sure everything is working correctly.
You can use PayPal to accept credit and debit cards, bank transfers, and PayPal payments.
- Apple Pay: Apple Pay is a contactless payment method that’s available on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac. With Apple Pay, customers can pay with their Apple devices using Touch ID or Face ID.
- Google Pay: Google Pay is a contactless payment method that’s available on Android devices. With Google Pay, customers can pay with their Android devices using fingerprint authentication or a PIN.
