How Do I Continue a Pattern in Photoshop?

There are a few ways to continue patterns in Photoshop. The first way is to use the clone stamp tool.

With the clone stamp tool, you can select an area of the image that has the pattern you want to continue, and then stamp it elsewhere in the image. You can also use the pattern stamp tool, which is similar to the clone stamp tool, but it uses a pattern instead of an image.

To use the clone stamp tool, select it from the toolbar on the left side of the screen. Then, click and hold on the area of the image that you want to copy.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, continuing a pattern in Photoshop can result in a very repetitive and boring image. Be sure to vary the colors, sizes, and shapes of the elements you are using to create the pattern, or else your final image will lack visual interest.

Drag your mouse over to the area where you want to paste the copied image, and release the mouse button. The image will be pasted in that spot.

You can also use layer masks to continue patterns in Photoshop. To do this, create a new layer above the layer with the pattern you want to continue. Then, select a brush tool and set it to black.

Paint over the area of the layer where you want to continue the pattern. This will create a mask over that area. Finally, select the layer with the pattern and drag it over until it is aligned withthe masked area.
