How Do I Copy Edits From One Picture to Another in Photoshop?

There are a few different ways that you can copy edits from one picture to another in Photoshop.

1. Using the Copy Command

One way is to use the “Copy” command under the “Edit” menu. This will copy all of the current layer’s contents to the clipboard.

To do this, first, open the edited picture in Photoshop and select the adjustment layers applied to the image.

Then, right-click on the selected layers and click on the “Group from Layers” option from the menu to combine the layers into one group.

Type in the name of your group of layers in the pop-up window, then click on the “OK” button.

Once the group layer has been created, copy it using the “Copy” command in the Edit menu or simply use the keyboard shortcuts, “Ctrl + C” to do this.

Now, open the other image where you want to apply the copied edits from the original image. Then, use the “Paste” command under the Edit menu or simply press “Ctrl + P” on your keyboard.

The pasted contents will appear on their own layer in the new image! The adjustment layers will also be automatically applied to your image.

2. Using the Libraries Window

Another way to copy edits is to use the “Libraries” window under the “Window” menu.

To do this, simply open the Libraries window (Window > Menu), then select and drag the adjustment group layers to the Graphics library.

NOTE: If you don’t have the Graphics library yet, simply create it using the “Create new library” button.

Once done, open the other image and select the added adjustment layer in the Graphics library. From there, right-click on it, then select “Place layers” from the menu.

And there you have it! The copied layer will then appear on top of all other layers in the new image, and the adjustment layers will be automatically applied to your image.

Conclusion:

There are several different ways that you can copy edits from one picture to another in Photoshop, including using the Copy command and the Libraries window. Experiment with each method and choose whichever method fits your needs.

PRO TIP: If you are unfamiliar with Photoshop, do not attempt to copy edits from one picture to another. You may unintentionally damage both pictures.
