How Do I Copy Text From Canva?

Last updated on September 27, 2022 @ 10:30 pm

If you’ve ever wanted to copy text from Canva, you may have been frustrated to find that there’s no easy way to do it. However, there is a workaround that you can use to get the text out of Canva and into another program. Here’s how:

1. Select the text you want to copy in Canva. 2. Press Ctrl+C (Windows) or Cmd+C (Mac) to copy the text.

3. Open a new text document in your preferred program. 4. Press Ctrl+V (Windows) or Cmd+V (Mac) to paste the text into the new document.

You can then format the text in the new document as desired. This method won’t work for copying images, however – only text. So if you need to copy both text and images from Canva, you’ll need to use the Take a Screenshot method instead (described below).

Taking a Screenshot

If you need to copy both images and text from Canva, taking a screenshot is the best method. Select the area of the Canva design that you want to copy. Press Ctrl+PrtScr (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+4 (Mac).

This will take a screenshot of the selected area. 3. Open a new image editing program and press Ctrl+V (Windows) or Cmd+V (Mac) to paste the screenshot. Save the image and then use an OCR program to extract the text from the image (see below for more on this).

PRO TIP: If you are looking to copy text from Canva, be warned that it may not be possible to do so depending on the design. Some designers lock their text so that it cannot be copied, and this includes text within images. If you find yourself in a situation where you need to copy text from Canva, your best bet is to try and use a screenshot tool like Snagit or use the print screen function on your keyboard and then paste the image into an editing program like Photoshop or GIMP.
