How Do I Create a Category Link in WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 7:22 pm

There are two ways to create a category link in WooCommerce. The first is to use the built-in functionality in WooCommerce, and the second is to use a plugin.

To use the built-in functionality in WooCommerce, go to the Products tab and select Categories. From here, you can add a new category or edit an existing one. To add a new category, simply enter the name of the category and click Add New Category.

To edit an existing category, hover over the category name and click Edit. From here, you can change the name of the category, its slug (which is the URL-friendly version of the name), and its description. You can also change the parent category, if desired.

Once you’ve made your changes, click Update to save them.

PRO TIP: If you are using WooCommerce to create a category link, be aware that this process can be complicated and may take some time to complete. Make sure to follow the instructions carefully and test the link before making it live on your website.

If you want more control over your categories, or if you want to add features such as an image or a description, you can use a plugin. One option is YITH WooCommerce Category Accordion, which lets you create accordion-style menus for your categories.

To use this plugin, install and activate it, then go to YITH Plugins > Category Accordion to configure it. First, select which categories you want to include in the accordion menu. Then, choose how many levels of subcategories you want to display and whether you want to show empty categories.

Once you’ve saved your changes, the accordion menu will be displayed on your site. You can style it using CSS if desired.

Both methods for creating a category link in WooCommerce are easy to use and provide flexible options for customizing yourcategory pages. Choose the method that best suits your needs and preferences.
