How Do I Create a Falling Leaf in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 1:27 pm

There are a few different ways that you can create a falling leaf in Photoshop. One way is to use the Brush tool to create a leaf shape, and then use the Eraser tool to create a “falling” effect. Another way is to use the Pen tool to create a more realistic leaf shape, and then use the Warp tool to distort the shape.

If you want to create a more realistic falling leaf, it’s best to use the Pen tool. First, draw a basic leaf shape with the Pen tool.

Then, click on the ” Warp ” option in the options bar. In the ” Warp ” menu, select the ” Arc Lower ” option. This will cause your leaf to curve downward, giving it a more realistic falling effect.

PRO TIP: This tutorial is for advanced Photoshop users. If you are a beginner, please DO NOT attempt this tutorial.

Once you’ve created your falling leaf, you can add some finishing touches by adding shadows and highlights. To add shadows, create a new layer and set the layer mode to ” Multiply “.

Then, use a soft black brush to paint shadows onto your leaf. To add highlights, create another new layer and set the layer mode to ” Screen “. Use a white brush to paint highlights onto your leaf.

After you’ve added shadows and highlights, your falling leaf is complete!
