How Do I Create a Shopify Template?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 2:06 pm

If you’re looking to create a Shopify template, there are a few things you’ll need to keep in mind. First, you’ll need to have a basic understanding of HTML and CSS.

While Shopify does provide some built-in templates, they may not be exactly what you’re looking for. If you’re not comfortable coding, there are plenty of resources available online that can help you get started.

Once you have a basic understanding of HTML and CSS, you’ll need to decide what kind of template you want to create. There are two main types of templates: static and dynamic.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Shopify’s template language, Liquid, we recommend hiring a Shopify Expert to help you create a custom template.

Static templates are typically used for simple pages that don’t require much interaction from the user. Dynamic templates, on the other hand, are used for more complex pages that allow the user to input data or interact with the page in some way.

Once you’ve decided on the type of template you want to create, you’ll need to start coding. If you’re creating a static template, you’ll only need to worry about the HTML code. However, if you’re creating a dynamic template, you’ll also need to add some JavaScript code in order to make the template function properly.

After your template is complete, you’ll need to upload it to your Shopify account. Once it’s been uploaded, you can start using it right away. Keep in mind that you can always go back and edit your template if needed.

Creating a Shopify template is a great way to get started with coding. By following these simple steps, you can create a template that suits your needs and gives your shop a professional look.
