How Do I Create a Sunflare in Photoshop?

Last updated on January 25, 2023 @ 6:08 pm

Flares from the sun are one of the most beautiful phenomena in nature. They’re also one of the most difficult to capture in a photograph.

But with a little bit of know-how, you can create your own sunflare in Photoshop. Here’s how:

1. To begin, open up a new Photoshop document and create a new layer.

2. Next, grab a large, soft brush and set the color to white. Paint a large circle in the center of the layer.

3. Now go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and apply a blur of about 10 pixels.

4. Set the layer blending mode to “Screen” and reduce the opacity to around 50%.

5. Finally, add a little bit of noise by going to Filter > Noise > Add Noise and applying an amount of around 10%.

And that’s it! You’ve now created your own sunflare in Photoshop.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that creating a sunflare in Photoshop can be dangerous if not done correctly. Always use caution when working with any type of Photoshop filter, and be sure to follow all instructions carefully.
