How Do I Create a Test Order in WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 2:57 pm

Creating a test order in WooCommerce is a great way to make sure your store is functioning correctly before you open it up to customers. To create a test order, you’ll need to first create a customer account.

To do this, go to the Users tab in your WordPress admin panel and click Add New. Fill in the user’s information and click Add New User.

Now that you have a customer account, you can log in to your store as that customer and add items to their cart. When you’re ready to checkout, go to the Cart page and click Proceed to Checkout.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, creating a test order in WooCommerce can result in actual charges to your credit card. Be sure to use a dummy credit card number when creating a test order, and be sure to cancel the order afterwards to avoid any unwanted charges.

On the checkout page, fill in the customer’s information and choose a payment method. For the purposes of this test, you can choose the Check Payment option. This will allow you to complete the order without actually processing any payment.

Once you’ve filled in all the required information, click Place Order. Your test order will now be complete!

You can view it by going to the Orders page in your WordPress admin panel. Test orders are a great way to make sure your WooCommerce store is working properly before you open it up to customers. By creating one, you can catch any potential problems so that they can be fixed before anyone actually tries to place a real order.
