How do I create a thumbnail in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 8:00 pm

An image thumbnail is simply an image representation of its full-size counterpart. Thumbnails can be used for a variety of purposes, but are most commonly used as a way to display images on a website or in an email. To create a thumbnail in Photoshop, first open your full-size image. Next, use the Image > Thumbnail command to create a copy of your image with a reduced size.

PRO TIP: When creating a thumbnail in Photoshop, it is important to avoid using low resolution images. Using a low resolution image will result in a poor quality thumbnail.

Finally, use the Image > Scale Image command to resize the copy to the desired thumbnail size. Once the thumbnail is created, you can use it to display your image on a website or in an email. For more information, please see our tutorial on creating image thumbnails in Photoshop.
