How Do I Create an Abstract Shape in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 4:15 pm

When it comes to creating abstract shapes in Photoshop, there are a few different methods that you can use. One popular method is to use the Pen Tool to draw your shape. Another method is to use the Shape Tools to create a basic shape, and then modify it using the Transform Tool.

If you want to create an abstract shape using the Pen Tool, first make sure that the Pen Tool is selected from the Tools palette. Then click and drag on your canvas to create your shape.

You can also add anchor points by clicking on the canvas with the Pen Tool active. To remove anchor points, simply click on them and press Delete.

PRO TIP: When creating an abstract shape in Photoshop, be sure to use the pen tool to create your shape. If you use another tool, the shape may not be as accurate as you would like it to be.

If you want to use the Shape Tools to create your abstract shape, first select the Shape Tool that you want to use from the Tools palette.

You can also hold down Shift while dragging to constrain the proportions of your shape. Once you release the mouse button, you can then use the Transform Tool to modify your shape further.

Once you have created your abstract shape, you can then add color and texture to it using the Fill and Stroke commands from the Edit menu. You can also add layer effects such as shadows and glows to give your shape more depth. Experiment with different techniques until you find a look that you like.
