There are a few ways to cut the background out of a picture in Photoshop, but for the sake of this article, we’ll just focus on one. The first thing you need to do is open your image in Photoshop.
Then, using the “Quick Selection Tool” (which can be found in the toolbar on the left side of the screen), click and drag your cursor around the object you want to keep. As you do this, you’ll see that Photoshop automatically starts selecting the area around your object.
If you make a mistake and select an area that you don’t want to be selected, you can hold down the “Alt” key on your keyboard and click inside the area you want to deselect. Conversely, if there’s an area that you want to include in your selection that Photoshop isn’t selecting automatically, you can hold down the “Shift” key and click inside that area.
Once you have your object selected, you can simply press the “Delete” key on your keyboard to get rid of the background. Or, if you want to keep the background but just change its color or something, you can click on the “Edit” tab at the top of the screen and then select “Fill.”
From there, you can choose what color you want your background to be.
That’s all there is to it! Just remember: when cutting out an image with complex edges (like hair), it might take a little bit longer and require a bit more precision. But with a little practice, you’ll be a pro in no time.
