How Do I Darken a Specific Area in Photoshop?

If you want to darken a specific area in Photoshop, there are a few different ways that you can do it. One way is to use the Burn Tool.

In the Photoshop toolbar, select burn tool

With the Burn Tool selected, you can then hover over the area that you want to darken and click and drag. The more you drag, the darker the area will become.

Another way to darken an area is to use a Levels Adjustment Layer. To do this, go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Levels.

Go to Photoshop layer menu, select new adjustment layer then click levels

Then, in the Levels window, drag the black slider to the right until you get the desired darkness.

You can also darken an area by using a Curves Adjustment Layer. To do this, go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Curves.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful while darkening a specific area in Photoshop, you may end up darkening the whole image.

Then, in the Curves window, click on the point where the line meets the x-axis and drag it down slightly. This will make the shadows darker.

If you want to darken an entire image, you can do so by going to Image > Adjustments > Levels and dragging the black slider to the right. You can also go to Image > Adjustments > Curves and click on the point where the line meets the x-axis and drag it down slightly.
