How Do I Draw a Curve in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 1:36 am

There are a few different ways that you can draw a curve in Photoshop. One way is to use the pen tool. With the pen tool selected, click and hold down the mouse button where you want the curve to start. Then, without letting go of the mouse button, move the cursor in the direction that you want the curve to go.

As you move the cursor, you’ll see a line appearing behind it. This line is the path that the curve will take. When you’re happy with the direction of the curve, let go of the mouse button. You’ll see that a point has been added to the path where you released the mouse button.

To continue drawing the curve, move the cursor to another point on the image and click and hold down the mouse button again. As before, move the cursor in the direction that you want the curve to go.

PRO TIP: When using the pen tool to draw a curve, be sure to hold down the shift key while drawing. This will ensure that your curve is symmetrical.

When you’re happy with the direction of the curve, let go of the mouse button and another point will be added to the path. Repeat this process until you’ve drawn all of the points that you want for your curve.

To finish drawing your curve, move your cursor back to first point that you drew on your path and click on it. This will close off your path and complete your curve.

Conclusion:

Drawing curves in Photoshop is a simple process that can be accomplished using the pen tool. By clicking and holding down on points on an image, you can create a path for a curve to follow. Once you have created all of your points, simply click back on your first point to close off your path and complete your curve.
