How Do I Edit a Checkout Page in Squarespace?

Last updated on December 29, 2022 @ 2:37 pm

Checkout pages are one of the most important pages on a website- they’re where customers go to finalize their purchase and provide their payment information. A well-designed checkout page can help increase conversion rates and decrease cart abandonment, while a poorly designed page can do the opposite.

If you’re using Squarespace to build your website, you might be wondering how to edit your checkout page to make it just right for your business. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do just that.

    1. Log in to your Squarespace account and go to the ‘Commerce’ section. This is where you’ll find all of the settings and options related to setting up eCommerce on your website. If you haven’t set up eCommerce yet, you’ll need to do that first before editing your checkout page.

    2. In the ‘Commerce’ section, click on ‘Checkout Page.’ This will take you to the page where you can edit all aspects of your checkout page, from the layout to the colors.

    3. On the Checkout Page settings page, you can start by choosing a layout for your page. Squarespace offers a few different layout options for checkout pages- you can choose between a single column layout and a two column layout. Single column layouts are simpler and can be easier for customers to navigate, while two column layouts allow you to include more information on the page.

    4. Once you’ve chosen a layout, you can start customizing the look of your checkout page. You can change the background color, text color, and font size to match your website’s branding. You can also upload a logo that will appear at the top of the page. If you want to get really detailed, you can even add custom CSS code.

    5. In the ‘Content’ section of the Checkout Page settings, you can edit the text that appears on your checkout page. This is where you’ll add things like your company name and contact information. You can also add special instructions for your customers in this section.

    6. The ‘Payment’ section is where you’ll choose which payment methods you want to accept on your website. Squarespace offers integrations with several different payment processors, including Stripe and PayPal.
You can also choose to accept credit cards directly through Squarespace. If you’re using a third-party payment processor, you’ll need to enter your account information in this section.

    7. The last step is to click ‘Save’ and then ‘Publish’. Your changes will now be live on your website!

PRO TIP: Please be aware that editing a checkout page in Squarespace can be risky and may result in your site breaking. We recommend only doing this if you are confident in your ability to troubleshoot any potential issues.
