When it comes to online design, Canva is one of the easiest and most user-friendly tools out there. But even with its simplicity, there are still a few things that can trip up first-time users. Here’s a quick guide on how to edit in Canva, so you can get started on creating your own stunning designs.
First, sign up for a free account at Canva.com. Once you’re logged in, you’ll be taken to the main dashboard where you can choose from a variety of templates for your design. For this example, we’ll be creating a social media post, so we’ll select the “Social Media Post” template.
Next, you’ll be taken to a blank canvas where you can begin adding your own elements to the design. On the left hand side of the screen, you’ll see a toolbar with different options for adding text, images, shapes, and more. If you want to add text to your design, simply click on the “Text” option and start typing.
You can also customize the font, color, and size of your text by using the options that appear in the top toolbar when you have your text box selected. To add an image to your design, click on the “Uploads” option in the left hand toolbar and upload an image from your computer. You can also select from a variety of free images that are available within Canva.
Once you have your text and images in place, you can start adjusting their placement by clicking and dragging them around on the canvas. If you want to change the orientation of an image or element, simply click on it and then use the rotate buttons that appear in the top toolbar.
When you’re happy with your design, click on the “Download” button in the top toolbar and choose whether you want to download your design as an image or PDF file.
