How Do I Edit My Cart Page on Shopify?

Last updated on October 2, 2022 @ 2:07 am

Assuming you’re using a Shopify theme, there are a few ways you can edit your cart page. If you’re comfortable working with code, then you can edit the cart.liquid file in your theme. Otherwise, you can use the built-in Shopify editor to make changes to your cart page.

In the Shopify editor, go to Online Store > Themes > Edit HTML/CSS. In the Templates directory, click on cart.liquid.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Shopify’s platform, we recommend that you consult with a Shopify expert before editing your cart page. Depending on your theme, the process for editing your cart page can vary. In some cases, it may be as simple as editing the code in your theme’s settings. However, if you are not comfortable working with code, we advise against attempting to edit your cart page.

On the right hand side, you’ll see the editor where you can make changes to your cart page. Any changes you make will be visible immediately on your store’s cart page.

If you want to change the layout of your cart page, then you’ll need to edit the code in the cart.liquid file. For example, if you want to move the location of the “Continue Shopping” button, then you would need to find the code for that button and move it to the desired location in the code.

Once you’re done making changes, be sure to click Save at the top of the page. Your changes will now be live on your store’s cart page!
