How do I enable https on Namecheap?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 6:37 pm

SSL/TLS can be a bit of a headache for end users, as often times it requires some extra configuration to get it working correctly. Namecheap is no different, as they require users to enable HTTPS on their account in order to make sure all traffic is encrypted.

Fortunately, this is a fairly easy process that can be completed in just a few minutes.

PRO TIP: If you are enabling https on Namecheap, be aware that there are some potential risks. First, make sure that you understand what https is and how it works. There are many tutorials online that can help you with this. Next, be sure to follow all the instructions carefully. If you make a mistake, it could cause your website to become inaccessible or to display incorrect information. Finally, remember that https is not always necessary, and it may not be the best option for your website. If you have any questions, be sure to ask a professional before enabling https on your website.

First, head over to Namecheap’s Accounts page and click on the ” Settings ” link in the top left corner. This will take you to a page where you can change a variety of account settings.

On the ” Security ” page, you’ll need to click on the ” HTTPS ” link in the top left corner and select ” On “. Once this is done, you’ll need to confirm that you want to enable HTTPS by clicking on the ” Enable HTTPS ” button.

Finally, you’ll need to verify that HTTPS is enabled by checking the ” SSL/TLS ” checkbox. Once this is done, all traffic will be encrypted and will be verified by Namecheap before being sent to the server.
