How Do I Enable Touch Mode in Photoshop?

Last updated on February 8, 2023 @ 7:55 am

If you’re using Photoshop on a Windows 10 device with a touchscreen, you can enable touch mode to optimize the app for touch input. With touch mode enabled, you’ll be able to use gestures like tap, pan, and zoom, as well as Voice Commands.

You can also use the new Photoshop Touch Bar if your device has one. Here’s how to enable touch mode in Photoshop:

1. Open Photoshop and click on the Edit menu.

2. Select Preferences from the menu.

3. Click on Interface from the left sidebar.

Go to Photoshop Edit menu and select Interface under the preferences section

4. Check the box next to Enable Touch Mode.

5. Click OK to save your changes and exit the Preferences window.

In the Photoshop preferences dialog box, check the enable touch mode checkbox then click Ok

PRO TIP: If you enable touch mode in Photoshop, you may not be able to use some of the tools properly. Use caution when enabling touch mode.

Once you’ve enabled touch mode in Photoshop, you can start using gestures to navigate the app and perform tasks. For example, you can tap on an image to select it, or use a two-finger tap to zoom in or out. You can also pan around an image by dragging it with your finger or use a three-finger swipe to quickly switch between open documents.

If you’re using a device with a Touch Bar, you’ll see a new set of controls when you enable touch mode. The Touch Bar provides quick access to frequently used tools and commands, so you can keep your hands on the keyboard and mouse while you’re working.

To disable touch mode in Photoshop, simply follow the steps above and uncheck the box next to Enable Touch Mode in the Interface preferences.
