How Do I Export From After Effects to Figma?

Have you ever found yourself in the position where you needed to take an animation you created in After Effects and bring it into Figma? It turns out, there is a way to do this!

The first thing you’ll need to do is export your After Effects composition as a .mov file. To do this, go to File > Export > Quicktime and choose the “Animation” codec. Once you’ve done this, open up Figma and create a new file.

Next, go to File > Import > Video Frames to import your . This will bring all of the frames from your animation into Figma as individual layers. You can then rearrange these layers and add additional styling to them.

PRO TIP: We strongly recommend against exporting from After Effects to Figma. Doing so can lead to unexpected results and can cause problems with your project.
