How Do I Export Specs in Figma?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 10:21 am

There are a few ways to export specs in Figma. The first way is to use the “Export” button in the top bar. This will give you the option to export your specs as a PDF, image, or JSON file.

Another way to export your specs is to use the “Share” button in the top bar. This will give you the option to share your file as a public link, or to export it as a PDF, image, or JSON file.

PRO TIP: If you are working on a design in Figma and need to share it with someone who does not have a Figma account, you can export your design as a PDF. However, there are some things to keep in mind when doing this:

1. Make sure that all of the layers in your design are unlocked. Otherwise, they will not be visible in the exported PDF.

2. If you have any text layers in your design, make sure to convert them to outlines before exporting. Otherwise, the text will not be visible in the PDF.

3. When exporting your design as a PDF, make sure to select the “High Quality” setting. Otherwise, the exported PDF will be of lower quality and may not look as sharp as you intended.

Finally, you can use the “File” > “Export” menu item to export your specs as a PDF, image, or JSON file.

The best way to export your specs will depend on what you need them for. If you need to share them with someone who doesn’t have Figma, then exporting as a PDF or image would be the best option. If you need to edit your specs later, then exporting as a JSON file would be the best option.
