If you’re a graphic designer, chances are you’re pretty familiar with Photoshop. Photoshop is a great program for creating graphics, but it can also be used for much more.

One thing you may not know how to do in Photoshop is extend your canvas. If you need to add more space to your image, here’s a quick tutorial on how to do just that.

First, open up your image in Photoshop. Then, go to the “Image” menu and select “Canvas Size.” A new window will pop up. In this window, you’ll see two options for “Canvas extension color.”

The first option is “White,” which will add white space to your image. The second option is “Transparent,” which will add transparent space to your image. Choose the option that best suits your needs.

PRO TIP: When extending your canvas in Photoshop, be careful not to accidentally move or delete your original image. If you do, you may not be able to undo your changes.

Next, enter the dimensions for the new canvas size. The width and height fields refer to the total size of the new canvas, so if you want to add 100 pixels of width and 200 pixels of height, you would enter “100” in the width field and “200” in the height field. If you want your new canvas size to be the same as your original image size, leave both fields blank.

Once you’ve entered the dimensions for your new canvas size, click “OK” and Photoshop will automatically extend your canvas.

Conclusion:

Extending your canvas in Photoshop is a quick and easy way to add more space to your image. Just go to the “Image” menu and select “Canvas Size.” Enter the dimensions for the new canvas size and click “OK.” Your image will automatically be extended.
