DNS, or Domain Name System, is a directory of sorts that helps your computer find the websites you want to visit. When you enter a web address into your browser, your computer contacts a DNS server and asks for the IP address associated with that website. It then connects to the website using that IP address.
If you’re having trouble connecting to a website, one thing you can check is your DNS settings. If you’re using Wix as your website builder, here’s how to find your DNS settings:

- Log in to your Wix account and go to the Dashboard.
- Click on Manage Site.
- Click Connect Domain.
- Click Use an existing domain that I own.
If you’ve already connected your domain to Wix, you’ll see it listed here. If not, click on Connect a new domain.
Enter your domain name in the box and click Continue. On the next screen, select Custom DNS (Advanced).
- Select I’ll set up my DNS records myself.
You’ll now see a list of records that need to be added. These are called A records. To add an A record:
- Click the + icon next to the A record section.

Leave all other settings as their defaults and click Add Record.
You should now see the new record listed.
Repeat this process for each of the four A records.
When you’re finished, click Continue.
On the next screen, select I have completed these steps.

You will see a message that says “We found your DNS records!” Click Continue.
