How Do I Get Attribute Terms in WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 11:50 pm

In WooCommerce, there are two types of attributes: product attributes and global attributes. Product attributes are specific to a product, and global attributes can be applied to any product.

To add an attribute to a product, go to the product page and scroll down to the “Attributes” section. From here, you can add a new attribute or select an existing attribute from the dropdown menu.

If you’re adding a new attribute, you’ll need to enter the attribute name, slug, and type. The name is how it will appear on the frontend of your site, the slug is how it will appear in the URL, and the type is whether it’s a text field, select field, or radio button.

Once you’ve added the attribute, you can add values for that attribute. For example, if you have an attribute for color, you can add values like “red”, “blue”, or “green”. To do this, simply click “Add Value” and enter the value name and slug.

PRO TIP: If you are using WooCommerce to sell products online, it is important to understand how to get attribute terms in WooCommerce. Attribute terms are the different options that are available for each product attribute. For example, if you have a product with the color attribute, the attribute terms would be the different colors that the product is available in.

Getting attribute terms in WooCommerce can be done in two ways:

1. Use the WooCommerce Attribute Terms shortcode.
2. Use the WooCommerce Attribute Terms widget.

Both of these methods will allow you to display all of the attribute terms for a specific product attribute on your website. This can be helpful if you want to give your customers more options when they are choosing a product.

However, it is important to note that using either of these methods will result in all of the attribute terms being displayed on your website. If you only want to display a few attribute terms, it is best to use the WooCommerce Attribute Terms shortcode or widget.

After you’ve added all of the values for an attribute, you can save your changes by clicking the “Update” button at the bottom of the page.

Global attributes work similarly to product attributes, but they can be applied to any product rather than just one specific product. To add a global attribute, go to WooCommerce > Attributes and click “Add New Attribute”.

From here, you can add the global attribute name, slug, type, and values just like you would for a product attribute. Once you’ve saved your changes, any products that don’t have that attribute will now have it available as an option.

Adding attributes to products in WooCommerce is a great way to give customers more information about what they’re buying. By adding attributes like color or size, customers can easily find products that meet their needs without having to search through every single product on your site. And with global attributes, you can automatically apply an attribute to all products on your site with just a few clicks.
