Adobe Photoshop CS6 provides support for Camera Raw 6.4, which is the latest version of the Camera Raw plug-in that ships with Photoshop CS6. The update contains numerous bug fixes and enhancements, including new lens profiles, new camera support, and several new features.

To get started, open up Photoshop and go to Edit > Preferences > Plug-Ins. From here, make sure that the “Enable Adobe Camera Raw” option is checked. Once you’ve done that, restart Photoshop.

Once Photoshop has restarted, go to File > Import. In the drop-down menu, select “Camera Raw…” This will open up the Camera Raw dialog box.

From here, select the image you want to edit and click Open.

The image will now appear in the main window of the Camera Raw dialog box.

Make any adjustments you want to the image and then click Done. The image will now be imported into Photoshop as a Smart Object. You can double-click on the Smart Object layer to open it back up in Camera Raw if you need to make any further adjustments.

In conclusion, getting Camera Raw in Photoshop CS6 is a pretty simple process. Just make sure that the “Enable Adobe Camera Raw” option is checked in the Plug-Ins preferences, restart Photoshop, and then go to File > Import > Camera Raw… to open up the Camera Raw dialog box.

PRO TIP: When opening Camera Raw in Photoshop CS6, you may experience unexpected behaviour such as crashing or freezing. This is due to a bug in the software and has been fixed in the latest update. However, if you are still using CS6, we recommend that you do not open Camera Raw or use it until you have updated to the latest version.
