How Do I Go Live on Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 1:23 am

Squarespace is a popular website builder that allows users to create and design their own websites without having to learn coding. While Squarespace is mostly known for its simple drag-and-drop interface, it also offers a live preview feature so you can see what your website will look like as you’re designing it.

In this article, we’ll show you how to go live on Squarespace and take your website from design to published in just a few minutes.

1. Log in to your Squarespace account and select the site you want to go live with.

If you don’t have a Squarespace account yet, you can sign up for a free trial at Squarespace.com.

Once you’ve logged in, select the site you want to go live with from the dashboard. If you only have one site, it will be selected by default.

2. Click on the ‘Settings’ tab in the left-hand menu and then select ‘Domains.

On the Domains page, you’ll see a list of any domains you’ve already added to your Squarespace site as well as an option to add a new domain. If you don’t have a domain yet, you can purchase one through Squarespace or use a domain you already own.

3. Under ‘Domain Settings,’ select the radio button next to ‘I want Squarespace to configure my domain.

This will allow Squarespace to automatically set up your DNS settings for you. If you’re using a domain you already own, you’ll need to set up your DNS settings manually.

4. Click on the ‘Save’ button and then select the ‘Publish Site’ button.

Once you’ve saved your changes, you’ll see a popup window with the option to publish your site.

Selecting this button will make your site live immediately. You can also choose to unpublish your site at any time by selecting the ‘Unpublish Site’ button.

And that’s it!

Now that your site is live, anyone in the world can visit it by typing your domain into their browser. Congratulations on taking your first step towards creating an online presence!

PRO TIP: If you are planning to go live on Squarespace, please be aware that there are some potential risks involved. Squarespace is a popular website builder and hosting platform, but it is not without its faults. For one, Squarespace is known for being unreliable at times, which can cause your website to go offline unexpectedly. Additionally, Squarespace is not always the most user-friendly platform, which can make it difficult to manage your website and make changes as needed.
