There are a few reasons why you might want to hide a product in your Shopify store. Maybe it’s not quite ready for prime time, or maybe you’re running a special promotion and want to keep the product hidden until the promotion starts. Whatever the reason, hiding a product in Shopify is easy to do.

To hide a product from your shop page, go to the “Products” page in your Shopify admin and click on the product that you want to hide. In the “Visibility” section of the “Edit product” page, select “Hidden”.

If you want to keep the product buyable (so that people can purchase it if they know the URL), then you’ll need to add a password to the product page. To do this, go to the “Settings” page in your Shopify admin and click on “Checkout”. In the “Password protect your checkout” section, check the “Enable password” box and enter a password.

PRO TIP: If you are considering hiding a product in Shopify, be aware that this will also prevent the product from being purchased. If you want to keep the product available for purchase, do not hide it.

Now when someone tries to view the product page, they’ll be prompted to enter the password. If they enter the correct password, they’ll be able to see the product and purchase it. If they don’t know the password, they won’t be able to see the product or purchase it.

You can also choose to hide a products from search engines like Google by going to “Settings” > “Preferences” and checking the box next to “Don’t index this page”. This will prevent search engines from indexing the Hidden products pages which will make them effectively disappear from search results.

Hiding a product in Shopify is easy to do using the Visibility settings on each product page, or by using password protection for buyable products. You can also prevent search engines from indexing Hidden products pages by checking preferences under Settings.
