How Do I Import a Figma File Into Illustrator?

If you’re a web or app designer, there’s a good chance you’ve used Figma to design your interface. But what if you need to take your Figma design and turn it into something that can be coded? In this article, we’ll show you how to import a Figma file into Illustrator so you can start adding your own CSS styles to your design.

When you’re working on a web or app design in Figma, you’re probably using vector shapes and text boxes to create your interface. But when you export your design as an image, all of those vector shapes become pixels, which can’t be styled with CSS. That’s where Illustrator comes in.

PRO TIP: When importing a Figma file into Illustrator, it is important to make sure that the file is compatible with your version of the software. Otherwise, you may experience problems with opening or editing the file.

With Illustrator, you can open your Figma file and convert all of those vector shapes into CSS-friendly code. Here’s how:

  1. Open your Figma file in Illustrator. To do this, go to File > Open and select your Figma file. Once it’s open, go to Window > Image Trace.
  2. Make sure the settings are set to “High Fidelity Photo. “ This will ensure that all of your vector shapes are accurately converted into code.
  3. Click ” trace.

    This will start the process of converting your Figma file into Illustrator code.

  4. Copy the code. Once the tracing is complete, go to File > Export > Export As and select “JavaScript” from the drop-down menu. This will give you a .js file that contains all of the code for your design.
  5. Paste the code into your HTML file. Now that you have the code for your design, you can add it to your HTML file. To do this, simply copy and paste the code into the section of your HTML document.
