Last updated on November 25, 2022 @ 3:00 pm

Figma is a vector graphics editor and design tool, developed by Figma, Inc. It is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux. One of the advantages of Figma is that it offers a free starter plan.

If you’re new to Figma, one of the first things you’ll want to learn is how to import a PSD file. Luckily, it’s a pretty simple process!

PRO TIP: If you are planning on importing a PSD file into Figma, be aware that there are some potential risks involved. First of all, make sure that the PSD file is compatible with Figma. If it is not, you may run into problems when trying to import it. Additionally, be sure to back up your Figma project before importing the PSD file, as it could potentially overwrite existing data.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open your PSD file in Photoshop.
  2. Select the layer or group of layers that you want to import into Figma.
  3. Right-click on the layer or group and select “Export As..”
  4. In the Export As dialog box, choose “PNG” as the file format and click “Export”.
  5. Open Figma and create a new file.
  6. Click on the “Import” button in the toolbar.
  7. In the Import dialog box, select your PNG file and click “Open”.
  8. Your PNG file will now be imported as a vector graphic!
