If you’re starting a new project in Photoshop, you may want to use a pre-existing template to help you save time. You can find Photoshop templates for free online, or you can purchase them from a variety of sources. Once you’ve found the template you want to use, you can import it into Photoshop using the following steps:

1. Open the template file in Photoshop.

If the file is a .PSD file, this will happen automatically. If the file is in another format, such as .JPG, select “File > Open” from the menu bar and locate the file on your computer.

2. Select all of the layers in the template file by clicking on the “Select All” button in the Layers panel. If there is only one layer, skip this step.

3. Copy all of the selected layers by pressing “Ctrl-C” (Windows) or “Command-C” (Mac).

4. Open the Photoshop file into which you want to import the template. If you’re starting with a blank document, select “File > New” from the menu bar.

5. Paste all of the copied layers into the new document by pressing “Ctrl-V” (Windows) or “Command-V” (Mac).

6. Resize and position the pasted layers as desired.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Photoshop, or do not have experience working with templates, it is best to avoid importing templates into the program. Photoshop is a complex program with many features and tools, and templates can be very intricate. If you do not take the time to learn how to use Photoshop and become familiar with its features, you may end up causing damage to your template or creating an unusable file.
