If you’re a web designer, you may find yourself in a situation where you need to take an Illustrator file and turn it into a Photoshop file. While this may seem like a daunting task, it’s actually not that difficult.

In this article, we’ll walk you through the process of importing an Illustrator file into Photoshop.

First, open your Illustrator file. Then, go to File > Export > Export As.

In the Export As dialog box, choose Photoshop from the Format drop-down menu. Make sure that the Use Artboards checkbox is selected, and then click Export.

Next, open your Photoshop file. Go to File > Import > Place Embedded. In the Place dialog box, navigate to your exported Illustrator file and click Place.

PRO TIP: When trying to import an Illustrator file into Photoshop, you may notice some strange behaviors. The first is that Photoshop may not be able to properly interpret the file, resulting in a distorted or corrupted image. Additionally, Photoshop may not be able to edit all of the layers in the Illustrator file, or may only be able to edit one layer at a time. If you need to edit an Illustrator file in Photoshop, it is best to save it as a Photoshop file first, and then open the Photoshop file in Photoshop.

Your Illustrator file will now be imported into Photoshop as a Smart Object. You can double-click on the Smart Object layer to open it in Illustrator. Make any changes you need to make in Illustrator, and then save and close the file.

Your changes will automatically be reflected in your Photoshop file.

So there you have it! Now you know how to import an Illustrator file into Photoshop. Give it a try next time you’re working on a web design project.
