How do I install Joomla on Windows 10?

Installing Joomla on Windows 10 is a breeze. All you need is a web browser and an internet connection. Follow these simple steps:

1. Open Windows 10’s Start Menu and search for “Internet Options.”

2. Click on the “Connections” tab and then click on the ” LAN Settings” button.

3. In the ” LAN Settings” window, make sure that the “Use the following DNS server addresses” option is selected.

4. Enter the following addresses into the “Server Address” and “Server Port” fields, and then click on the ” OK” button.

5. Click on the “Apply” button to save your changes.

6. Click on the “Open” button to return to the “LAN Settings” window.

7. Click on the “Internet” button.

8. In the “Internet Options” window, click on the “Advanced” button.

9. Click on the “TCP/IP” tab.

10. In the “TCP/IP” tab, click on the “Properties” button.

11. In the “Properties” window, click on the “Address” tab.

12. Enter the following address into the “Address” field.

  • 192.168.1.1.

13. Enter the following port number into the “Port” field.

14. Click on the ” OK” button to save your changes.

15. Click on the “Close” button to return to the “Internet Options” window.

16. In the “Internet Options” window, click on the “Connections” tab.

17. In the “Connections” tab, click on the “Add” button.

18. In the “Add Connection” window, click on the “Browse” button.

19. In the “Browse” window, navigate to the location where you saved the Joomla installer.

20. Click on the “OK” button to add the Joomla installer to your computer.

21. In the “Connections” tab, click on the “Close” button to close the Joomla installer.

22. Click on the “OK” button to return to the “Internet Options” window.

23. In the “Add Connection” window, click on the “Internet” button.

24. In the “Internet” button’s “Properties” window, enter the following URL into the “Address” field.

25. Click on the “OK” button to save your changes.

26. In the “Internet” button’s “Properties” window, click on the “Security” button.

27. In the “Security” window, click on the “Enable” button to enable the connection.

28. In the “Internet” button’s “Properties” window, enter the following URL into the “Port” field.

  • 8080

29. In the “Internet” button’s “Properties” window, click on the “Close” button to close the “Internet” button’s Properties window.

30. In the “Internet” button’s “Connections” tab, click on the “Close” button to close the “Connections” tab.

31. In the “Internet” button’s “Status” window, click on the “Close” button to close the “Status” window.

32. Click on the “OK” button to close the “Internet” window.

33. In the “Start” menu, click on the “Run” button.

34. Type the following command into the “Run” window and then click on the ” OK” button.

  • Joomla.exe

35. Click on the “OK” button to launch the Joomla installer.

36. Click on the “Next” button to continue the installation process.

37. Click on the “Yes” button to agree.

PRO TIP: Joomla is a content management system (CMS) and, as such, cannot be installed on Windows 10 without first installing a web server and PHP. Even then, Joomla would only run on a web server such as Apache or IIS – it cannot be run as a localhost application on Windows 10.
