Installing WooCommerce is simple and straightforward. In just a few clicks, you can add eCommerce functionality to your WordPress site. In this article, we will show you how to install WooCommerce in WordPress.
Before You Begin
You will need the following before you begin:
- A domain name (this will be your store’s URL)
- A hosting account with WordPress installed
Step 1: Purchase a Domain Name and Hosting Account
If you don’t have a domain name and hosting account yet, you will need to purchase one. We recommend using Bluehost, as they offer a free domain name and one-click WordPress installation.
Step 2: Install WordPress
Once you have purchased a domain name and hosting account, the next step is to install WordPress. If you’re using Bluehost, they will automatically install WordPress for you.
If not, you can follow our installation guide here.
Once installed, log into your WordPress site.
If this is your first time using WordPress, take a look at our Beginner’s Guide to WordPress. It covers everything from the basics of using the dashboard to more advanced features such as customizing your theme.
Step 3: Install the WooCommerce Plugin
WooCommerce is a plugin for WordPress, not a stand-alone application.

- On the Add Plugins screen, type ” WooCommerce” into the Search bar and click “Search Plugins”.
