How do I install WordPress on localhost?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 12:27 am

WordPress is a popular content management system (CMS) that enables you to create a website or blog from scratch, or to improve an existing website. To install WordPress on your localhost, follow these steps:

1. Download the WordPress installer from the WordPress website.

2. Extract the installer file to your local computer.

3. Click the WordPress installer executable file to start the installation process.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the WordPress installation process.

5. To activate your newly installed WordPress website, visit the WordPress website and enter your website address in the “URL” field.

6. Congratulations! Your WordPress website is now up and running on your localhost.

To further customize your WordPress website, visit the WordPress website and click the “ Codex ” button to access the WordPress Codex website. The WordPress Codex website is a collection of WordPress documentation that covers everything from using the WordPress core features to creating custom themes and plugins.

PRO TIP: If you are installing WordPress on your localhost, please be aware that there are some potential risks. Localhost is not a completely secure environment, so your WordPress site may be more vulnerable to attacks. Additionally, if you accidentally delete or corrupt your WordPress installation, you may not be able to recover it. Please backup your WordPress site before installing it on localhost.
