As the popular saying goes, “There’s more than one way to skin a cat.” The same can be said of finding out the size of your Canva.
Depending on what you want to use your Canva for, there are a few different ways to go about finding out its dimensions.
If you’re planning on using your Canva for print, then you’ll need to know its dimensions in inches or centimeters. To find out the size of your Canva in inches, simply multiply the width and height of your design by 96. For example, if your design is 10 inches wide by 10 inches tall, then it will have a final print size of 960px by 960px (or 10in x 10in).
If you need to know the size of your Canva in centimeters, multiply the width and height of your design by 2.54. So, using the same example as above, a 10×10 inch design would have a final print size of 25.4cm x 25.4cm.
But what if you’re not planning on printing your design? If you’re going to use your Canva for digital purposes, then you don’t need to worry about its physical dimensions.
Instead, focus on the file size. The file size is what determines how large or small your design will appear on screen.
To find out the file size of your Canva, simply go to File > Save As. From there, you’ll see that there are three different file types you can choose from: JPG, PNG, or PDF. Each file type has a different file size and quality.
JPGs are generally the smallest file type, but they also have the lowest quality. This makes them ideal for designs that will be viewed on screen but won’t be printed out. If you’re not sure which file type to choose, go with a JPG.
PNGs are slightly larger than JPGs, but they have a higher quality. This makes them ideal for designs that will be both printed and viewed on screen.
If you need to choose between a JPG and PNG, go with a PNG.
PDFs, meanwhile, are much larger than both JPGs and PNGs but they offer the highest quality. This makes them ideal for designs that will be printed but not necessarily viewed on screen. If you’re only worried about printing your design, then go with a PDF.
So, how do you know which file type is right for you? It really depends on what you’re planning on doing with your design.
