How Do I Link an Image in Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 9:02 am

As we all know, images are an integral part of the web. They make our pages more visually appealing and can help convey a message more effectively than words alone.

When it comes to images, there are two main ways to add them to your Squarespace site: by linking to an external image, or by uploading the image directly to Squarespace. In this article, we’ll focus on how to link an image in Squarespace.

There are a few different scenarios in which you might want to link an image. For example, you may want to create a gallery of images that link to full-size versions of the images, or you may want to add an image to your site that is hosted on another site (such as your company’s logo). No matter what your reasons for wanting to link an image, Squarespace makes it easy to do.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, linking an image in Squarespace can result in broken links and/or lost images.

To start, log in to your Squarespace account and navigate to the page on which you want to add the linked image. Then, click on the “Add Content” button and select “Image” from the list of content options.

On the next screen, select “Image” once again. Then, click on the “Link” tab and paste the URL of the image you wish to link into the “Image URL” field. Finally, click on the “Add Image” button.

Your linked image will now appear on your page! If you want to change the way it looks, you can click on it and use the options in the pop-up menu that appears. For example, you can change its size or alignment, add a border or drop shadow, or even make it into a link itself!

That’s all there is to linking an image in Squarespace! As you can see, it’s a simple process that can be completed in just a few steps. So next time you want to add an image to your site, don’t forget that you can always link it instead of uploading it directly!
