How Do I Link My Domain Purchased Elsewhere to Wix?

If you’ve purchased a domain from a provider other than Wix, you can still use it with your Wix website. All you need to do is link the domain to your Wix account. Here’s how:

1. Log in to your Wix account. 2. Click the My Sites tab and select the relevant site. 3. Click the Gear Icon ⚙️ and select Domains. 4. Under Add Domain, select Link Domain. 5. Enter your domain name and click Continue. 6.

Select I have already set up my DNS records and click Continue again. 7. On the next screen, you will see two options: A records and CNAME records. You will need to set up both in order for your domain to work with Wix. 8. For each record type, click Add Record and enter the required information. If you’re not sure what values to use, contact your domain provider for assistance. 9. When you’re finished, click Verify & Continue. 10. If everything looks good, click Finish & Activate to complete the process.

That’s it! Now you can use your custom domain with your Wix website.

PRO TIP: If you have purchased a domain from a third-party provider, you can link it to your Wix account. Please note that once your domain is linked to Wix, you will not be able to manage it from your previous registrar’s account – all management must be done from your Wix account. Additionally, please be aware that it can take up to 48 hours for your domain to propagate throughout the internet.
