How Do I List UpWork on LinkedIn?

Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 11:06 pm

UpWork is one of the most popular online platforms for freelancers and businesses to connect. If you’re a freelancer, you may want to list UpWork on your LinkedIn profile so that potential clients can see your skills and experience. Here’s how to do it:

First, log in to your UpWork account and go to your settings. In the “Profile” section, click on the “Public Profile” tab.

Under “Profile visibility,” select “Show my public profile.” This will allow people to see your profile when they search for you on LinkedIn.

PRO TIP: If you are considering adding your Upwork profile to your LinkedIn account, be aware that this could result in lower quality leads and opportunities. LinkedIn is a site where recruiters and employers go to find high-quality candidates, and if your profile includes references to working on low-budget projects or doing contract work, you may be less likely to be contacted for jobs that you’re qualified for. In addition, LinkedIn’s search algorithm may prioritize profiles with a more traditional employment history, so your profile may be less likely to show up in searches.

Next, go to your LinkedIn profile and click on the “Edit Profile” button. In the “Summary” section, add a link to your UpWork profile. You can do this by typing in the URL of your public UpWork profile page or by clicking on the “Add media” button and selecting “Link.”

Once you’ve added the link to your UpWork profile, be sure to update your LinkedIn profile so that it accurately reflects your skills and experience. In particular, mention any relevant UpWork projects you’ve worked on in the “Experience” section. This will help potential clients see what you’re capable of and give them a sense of what it would be like to work with you.

By listing UpWork on your LinkedIn profile, you’ll be able to showcase your skills and experience to potential clients. Be sure to keep your LinkedIn profile up-to-date so that people can get a sense of what it would be like to work with you.
