How Do I Make a Before and After Slider in Photoshop?

A before and after slider is a great way to show off your Photoshop skills to your clients or followers. Here’s how to make one in just a few steps:

  1. Open the image you want to use in Photoshop. Create two copies of the image by going to Layer > Duplicate Layer.

We’ll call these layers “Before” and “After”.

  2. Now you’ll need to make your adjustments on the “After” layer. This could be anything from removing blemishes or wrinkles, to completely changing the color of the image.

  3. Once you’re happy with your edits, select both layers and go to Window > Timeline. This will open up the Timeline panel.
  4. At the bottom of the Timeline panel, you’ll see an icon that looks like a filmstrip.

Click this, and then select “Create Frame Animation”. Your layers will now be turned into frames on the Timeline.

  5. With both frames still selected, go to “Animation” > “Animate”, and then select “Cross-fade”. This will add a smooth transition between your two images.

And that’s it! You’ve now created a before and after slider in Photoshop.

PRO TIP: This article provides instructions on how to create a before and after slider in Photoshop. However, it does not warn users about the potential risks of doing so. Sliders can be used to manipulate images in a way that can mislead viewers. They can also be used to make it difficult to compare two images side-by-side. Users should be aware of these potential risks before creating a before and after slider in Photoshop.
