A gradient map is a great way to add a bit of color to your otherwise dull and lifeless photos. Photoshop makes it easy to create gradient maps, and in this tutorial, we’ll show you how!
First, open your image in Photoshop. Then, go to the “Layer” menu at the top of the screen and select “New Adjustment Layer.” A new window will pop up; select “Gradient Map” from the list of options and click “OK.”
Next, you’ll need to choose a gradient. Photoshop comes with a few default gradients, or you can create your own.
To choose a default gradient, simply click on the gradient preview area in the “Gradient Editor” window. To create your own custom gradient, click on the “New Gradient” button.
Once you have your gradient selected, it’s time to adjust the colors. To do this, double-click on each of the color stops in the “Gradient Editor” window.
A new window will pop up; here you can select any color you like. When you’re finished adjusting the colors, click “OK.”
Now that your gradient is all set up, it’s time to apply it to your image! To do this, simply go back to the “Layer” menu and select “Apply Layer Mask.” Your image should now be filled with beautiful color!
