How Do I Make a Link Jump to a Specific Part of a Page Squarespace?

There are a few different ways to make a link jump to a specific part of a page on Squarespace. One way is to use an anchor tag.

To do this, you first need to create a named anchor at the spot on the page where you want the link to jump to. Then, you can create a link anywhere else on the page that points to that anchor.

For example, let’s say you have a long page with several sections, and you want to create a link in the navigation that jumps down to the “Contact” section. First, you would add an anchor tag with the name “contact” at the beginning of the “Contact” section.

Then, you would create a link in the navigation that points to “#contact”. When someone clicks on that link, they will be taken down to the “Contact” section of the page.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, making a link jump to a specific part of a page on Squarespace can result in the entire page becoming unresponsive.

You can also use HTML code to make a link jump to a specific part of a page. This method is similar to using an anchor tag, but instead of using the name attribute, you use the id attribute.

So, in our previous example, you would add an id attribute with the value “contact” to the “Contact” section header tag. Then, you would create a link in the navigation that points to “#contact”.

One last way to make a link jump to a specific part of a page on Squarespace is by adding query parameters to the URL. For example, let’s say you want to create a link that takes someone directly to the checkout page for a specific product.

You can do this by adding ?productID=XXXXXX&productVariantID=XXXXXX
to the end of the URL for that product’s page. When someone clicks on that link, they will be taken directly to the checkout page for that product.

All of these methods can be used to make links jump to specific parts of pages on Squarespace. Anchor tags are probably the easiest method, but feel free to experiment with all three methods to see what works best for your needs.
